Where can your tax dollars help the most?

Dear Friends of the Verde Valley Senior Center,

Please consider the hungry elders in our community when making the decision on where your tax dollars can help the most! Did you know that statistics show that more than 50% of the senior population in America aged 60+ lives below poverty level? The Verde Valley Senior Center has been providing home delivered meals, community dining and transportation services to residents of the Verde Valley for over 30 years. We are a lifeline to hundreds of senior citizens.

By donating up to $200 per person or $400 per married couple to the Verde Valley Senior Center before year end, December 31, 2011 you may be eligible for the Arizona Working Poor Tax Credit and reduce your state tax liability with a dollar-for-dollar credit. Not only will you help the Senior Center to continue providing wholesome, nutritional meals, transportation and other valuable services to the community’s elders, but you may also receive a charitable deduction on your federal return.

Even if you have already donated to the Schools Tax Credit program, the Arizona State Charitable Tax Credit is available to you because the working poor tax credit is different from the school tax credits.

The Verde Valley Senior Center is a qualified 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation and gifts are tax deductible as provided by law. We are a qualified charitable organization for the Arizona Working Poor tax credit. Please contact a qualified tax advisor for advice on how to file and benefit from your donations or go to the Arizona Department of Revenue website at www.azdor.gov/brochure/710.pdf or call Taxpayer Assistance, (602) 255-3381 or (800) 352-4090.

To make a donation, please contact Michele Stone or Elaine Bremner at: (928) 634-5450 or mail your check to:
Verde Valley Senior Center
P.O. Box 681,
Cottonwood, Az. 86326.

Donations may be made on line via PayPal with a credit card prior to midnight, December 31, 2011 by using the "Donate" button located to the left on this page.

Your investment in helping us stamp out hunger amongst those who taught us values and left us a legacy is desperately needed.

We wish to offer our sincere thanks to all who contribute to and support our many programs.
